~Dreamy Christmas~

Since this will be my last post for the year, I first want to say MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Today’s challenge was to make an easily reproduce in mass. If you know me, “CAS” is not my strong point.

Simple as I can get. Simply a tree line die cut. Sponge and stipple brush used to add to the background and trees. The sparkle on the snow is just a bit of glitter glue (Stickles).

I used:

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps –
   Wonder of Christmas
Tim Holtz thinlits – Tree Line
Enamel dots –
Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink –
other:
white/olive green/blue cardstock
Stickles for sparkling snow
Stipple brush
blending tool

Good evening! Twelve (12!) days until Christmas. In years past, I’d still be shopping. This year I had finished months ago. Christmas past is a blur to me. I remember exactly 2 Christmases where 1) we were showered with gifts or 2) we were extremely low on cash, so we were each given a gift from our parents belongings. I was 9 years old when I received my mother’s engagement ring. I though I had hit gold.

This week’s card is my annual pink Christmas card. Every year I search for the best non-traditional colors for my cards. I love red and green, but it’s fun to see where you can take it. All products used highlighted below. Thank you, Stamp Simply for providing the best images. So many sets are interchangeable.

Super easy card. The poinsettia was cut 3 times and different layers of the flower gives the illusion of it lifting off the card.

I used a tiny bit of Stickles on the flower petals, and lots of pink rhinestones.

I used:

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Seasonal Wreaths- Fall/Winter

Stamp Simply Steel Dies – Seasonal Wreaths – Fall Winter

Seasonal Wreath bundle

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Floral Clusters – Winter Poinsettia

Stamp Simply Steel Dies – Floral Cluster and Sprigs

Craft Consortium – 6×6 – Bright Blooms

Floral Cluster bundle

Stamp Simply Steel Dies – Fishtail Sentiment Banners

Kaisercraft Rhinestones

~A Blue Blue Christmas~

As I type this, we are waiting on our Thanksgiving pies to be ready. Not that we need it! It was a quiet day, with just one son and daughter in law joining us. The family has grown so much, we can’t fit all of us in any of our homes.

This week we’re working on easy to assemble Christmas cards.

This might look a little more than easy, but it’s all about the die cuts. Super easy!

I used:

Stamp Simply Steel Dies – Blessings
Sizzix Tim Holtz Dies – Mini Holiday Greens
Memory Box 6×6 – Woodsey Plaid
Bazzill Gold Mirrored cardstock
Poinsettia Dies – Spellbinders (retired) other options:

Other:
Asst. adhesives
Navy cardstock
Gold drops (Nuvo)
Glossy Accents

More and More coffee projects added to this hop daily. I went for 2 cups (20oz each) this morning. It’s necessary to start the day with a cup of happiness.

It may only be November 18th, it’s feeling a whole lot like winter. Not only coffee is on the menu, but hot cocoa and spiced apple cider.

I made this to celebrate the seasons. The transition between Fall and Winter comes earlier each year. how about a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows and a sweet candy cane to stir with.

For this card, I used:

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Have A Cup on Us
Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Christmas Stockings and Mittens
Stamp Simply Steel Dies – Christmas Stockings and Mittens
Bundle
Stamp Simply Steel Dies – A Cup of Java

Carta Bella – Welcome Winter

Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink

~A Veteran’s Coffee~

I would be remiss if I didn’t extend my gratitude to our veterans for their service, first..

I confess, this is the first Coffee hop I have done in ages. I wanted my project/card to focus on the veterans. How about a mug of coffee with your favorite veteran. My husband is a veteran and we are very proud of the time he spent in service.

The paper I used for this is out of stock, but there are numerous patriotic paper pads to be had!

I even scrapped up some little star brads to bring patriotism.

I used:

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Patriotic Sentiments
Stamp Simply Steel Dies – Cup of Java
Stamp Simply Steel Dies – Stars & Stripes (stars)
Echo Park 6×6 – Any patriotic themed papers, I used a retired pad.

Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink
other:
corner round punch
star brads
assorted adhesives
random drippy die

Check these out!

There is so fun stuff to be had:

And especially for this hop:

You know we love coffee. You’re probably drinking a cup right now!

~Scripture Purse~

Here we are. There are 55 days until Christmas. My birthday, my DIL, granddaughter and an aunt, all have birthdays this month, so you can imagine how crazy I’m feeling.

This week we’re sharing “gift” ideas for the upcoming holidays. I’ve made these type of bag in a box several times, mostly with the prayer/scripture cards.

To make this box, see the Box in a Bag tutorial on Splitcoaststampers HERE. I made my box a little (3 7/8″) bigger and used 2 pieces of the wood texture paper to create my box which is 4″ high. Then I cut straps and a bit of decor. I added a little distressing. There are a total of 6 cards included (mine are 3″ x 3″1/2). Each card with a different scripture, all from Stamp Simply.

Love, Hope, Trust, Grace, Faith, and Mercy.

I used:

These Stamp Simply Clear Stamp sets used for scripture:

HOPE
FAITH
LOVE
GRACE
MERCY
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
Stamp Simply Stick Family Add-ons (sentiment tag)
Craft Consortium 6×6 Wood Textures
Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink

other:
Distress ink (Walnut Stain)
Distressing tool
Kraft cardstock
Prima Daisy
Corner round punch
Scalloped Oval Punch
Label Maker
Ball Chain
Various adhesives

These can be made in any theme. For Christmas, each card could have a Christmas song prompt. The possibilities are endless.

And remember this! :

~Give Thanks Sunflower~

It’s Halloween! Looking forward to seeing the little ones in their costumes, all wound up for collecting their candy. In the meantime, baby boy grandson is here! My daughter-in-law is a trooper for enduring this pregnancy all the while taking excellent care of the girls. I commend her for her tenacity.

I’m sharing a fall/thanksgiving card this week.

We still have quite a few sunflowers in our area, but as the days get colder (27 degrees yesterday morning) they are starting to dry up.

This is so super easy. A little bit of coloring, die cutting and put it all together…. voila!

I don’t usually stamp inside, unless I know the recipient. I found this perfect verse in our many sets and it works for me!

I used:

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Sunflower Season
Stamp Simply Steel Dies – Sunflower
Sunflower bundle
Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Welcome Fall
Stamp Simply Steel Dies – Welcome Fall
Welcome Fall bundle
Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Give Thanks
Crafters Consortium – 6×6 – Wood Textures
Memento Tuxedo black dye ink

other:
various adhesives
3m dimensionals
Copic markers
light blue cardstock

Quick and simple card for male or female

I would be remiss if I didn’t say how lovely the Craft Consortium wood textures is? It’s my new favorite!

Just a very few days and our #1 grandson is due. His parents and sisters are anxious to meet him. Us grandparents are a bit on the excited side, too! I did raise four sons, but I’m a little out of practice changing a boy’s diaper. I know… cover up or DUCK!

This week, I’m sharing a more traditional Christmas card than I’m use to making. Red, Green and White. Pretty simple sketch, too.

I simply die cut the tree, first with patterned paper that had little stars; then a second die cut on matching cardstock. Glue them together to strengthen the tree. Then I used stickles to create the decor on the tree.

I added this gorgeous sparking ribbon and a few sparkling red dots. Put together quickly other than waiting on drying time. That seems to be the norm for me… always waiting for things to dry.

I used:

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – O Christmas Tree (Tree)
Stamp Simply Steel Dies – O Christmas Tree
O Christmas Tree bundle

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Snowflake Blessings (sentiment)
Carta Bella – 6×6 – Happy Christmas
May Arts 3/8″ Metallic Velvet
Spellbinders Celebrations Die – Pierced Ovals
other:
memento Bamboo Leaves
Red/Green cardstock
Adhesives (3M dimentionals/ScorTape)
Stickles

~A Male Sympathy~

Today I’m fulfilling a personal challenge. A male sympathy card with a fall theme. Nothing easy about that.

It’s been a very exciting week. First we had my daughter in law’s baby shower. A birthday party. A visit from my son (Zeke) from Philadelphia. My studio has doubled as a guess room (a miracle). He flew out Wednesday morning after a bunch of momma tears.

I’m pretty happy about how this turned out. Of course, tartan plaid plays a big role. The “Sympathy” was die cut twice to make it stand out.

~*~*~

I don’t always stamp the inside of my cards so it can be personalized. I found a perfect verse for the inside, though.

I used:

Stamp Simply Godly Man –
Godly Man Die
Stamp Simply Godly Man Bundle
Stamp Simply Falling Leaves Border Strip – leaves cut out
Stamp Simply Hope
Stamp Simply Sympathy die – cut twice
Craft Consortioum 6×6 – Tartan
Memento Tuxedo Dye Ink
other:
Wood embellishment
mesh
white gel pen
clear drops

~Joy Tags ~

It’s TAG time! This week, the design team is focusing on tags. I do an assortment of them each year to gift to my sons and their wives.

October 5th. Can you believe it? Only 95 days until Christmas. As I’ve previously mentioned, my shopping is done! That leaves me plenty of time for decor and a lot of wrapping! Most importantly, though, is that my two new grandsons will be arriving late this month and 29th of November. Our first grandsons!

All three of my tags are the same design with different colors. Super fun to make and not hard at all.

Each has a pocket on the reverse to add gift cards. These tags are 3 3/4 x 2 1/2″. Cut from various colors of cardstock with a matching piece of patterned paper. ** Don’t laugh at my arrangement. So many beautiful displays and I have nothing to stage photos with ** More shopping? I think SO!

For these tags, I used:

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Christmas Joy
Stamp Simply Steel Dies – Christmas Joy Ornaments

Sizzix Thinlits – Holiday Greens

Carta Bella – 6×6 – Home for Christmas (red & green tags)

Carta Bella – 6×6 – Winter Market

Memento Full Size Dye Ink Pad – Tuxedo Black

Baker’s Twine

Pearls

other:
Assorted color cardstock
Copics
Stickles
3M dimensionals
1/2″ circle punch
