It’s that time of year!  Graduates everywhere.  We actually have no graduates this year, so I made a grad card in the local High School’s colors.

Here’s a funny for you… my graduating class MISSED the 40th anniversary and now are having a 42nd anniversary event next year.  Definitely NO math geniuses in my grad class! ha!

My husband and I had our first dose of CoVid vaccine on Friday.  I woke up Friday with a really sore arm.  I woke on Sunday feeling like a truck ran over me.  It is getting better as the day goes by.

~*~*~

I LOVE the Bazzill mirrored cardstock.  The only problem is getting a good picture.  Since the paper is mirrored, it reflects every thing around it.  Usually a little natural light helps, but it’s been gloomy as heck.

I used:

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Scripture for Graduation & Beyond
Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Graduation Sentiments
Spectrum Noir Ultrasmooth Premium white cardstock
Bazzill Gold Mirrored cardstock
Cheery Lynn Designs – Graduation Set
1/4″ ScorTape
Thermoweb 3D 1/4″ foam squares

other:
Eggplant cardstock
Chipped Sapphire ink
Nuvo Drops – Bright Gold

~One Cup at a Time~

I was more than happy to make a birthday card this week.  My dear daughter in law has a birthday coming in a few days and she’s a barista!  She’s currently on maternity leave after the birth of our last granddaughter, Remington (Remi) Mae.

I love all things coffee, anyway.  The newest die set so amazing!  You can customize this coffee cup in so many ways.  I was a bit apprehensive with all the dies, but it was really easy to glam it up!

I’ll be holed up in the studio this week, so check back when you can!

~*~*~

I did stamp “Happy Birthday” on the inside.

Patriotism:
noun
the quality of being patriotic; devotion to and vigorous support for one’s country.
“a highly decorated officer of unquestionable integrity and patriotism”
We are a family of patriots.  It’s difficult to be patriotic during the turmoil in our country today.  There have been three mass shootings in the last 2 days.  It hurts the patriot’s heart.  If we can hate for no reason, why can’t we love just the same?
Today’s card is my tribute to America the Beautiful.  At one time I had my house completely decorated in Americana.  I loved it!
~*~*~
I used all scraps for this card.  That makes me happy!

~On Your Baptism~

It’s Spring!  We’ve had temps in the 80s, but it didn’t last.  We’re back in the 40s now, with snowfall expected later this week.

Today I’m making a baptism card.  I love the vanilla/gold combo.   Since this set (Baptism, Dedication, Confirmation, Communion) is so versatile, Paring it with the cross from Easter is for Jesus set is perfect.

~*~*~

I added touches of gold to highlight areas.

~*~*~

With no sentiment on the outside, I picked the perfect sentiment for the inside.

I used:

Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Baptism, dedication, confirmation, comm…

We’ve been given a taste of Spring these last few day… in the upper 70s and 80s.  Next week we’ll be a little cooler, but we never rule out snow in April in Colorado.

Spring has definitely sprung in my studio.  I have so so many birthdays coming up in April and May.  I’m daydreaming about birthday cards if I’m not making one.  I try to match the recipient to the card.   I’m gathering stuff to make summer wreaths and Patriotic wreaths.  Also still trying to obtain my goal of Support our Troops cards.

~*~*~

The colors look red in my pictures, but I can assure you that it’s shocking pink.

~Liberty & Justice~

After our snow storm last week (15+ inches), it was 67 degrees on Sunday.  We lost numerous trees in our area, yet the power never went out.  Now the forecast for next weekend is in the 70s.  I love Colorado!

So, I’m jumping from Easter cards to patriotic.  I will be making numerous birthday/Father’s Day cards comin up, too.  We have a large number of family birthdays in April.  Sadly, I won’t be making any Mother’s Day cards as both of our moms have passed.

~*~*~

I went for crisp and clean for this.  Probably not everyone’s idea of clean, but it is mine!

~Easter Bunny~

It’s been like a whirlwind around here these past couple of weeks.  Some good, some bad.  A lot of stress.  This coming week is looking good, though!

I’m pretty sure this will be my last Easter card.  I have enjoyed working with this new set (Easter is for Jesus).  My next project is an overhaul of my entire studio!  I’m also still working on Cards for Troops. Let the craziness commence!

~*~*~

I’m still in love with the Craft Consortium paper.  Tiny flowers make for a great background.  All the pastels just scream EASTER!

~He Is Risen!~

Snow is falling by the bucket here.  It started mid-day Saturday and we’re under a heavy blanket of the white stuff….  16″ so far.  It’s not supposed to stop for another 36+ hours.  Send shovels.

Still working on my Easter cards.  I’ve got a feeling I won’t get them all done.  Our 5th granddaughter was born on the 9th and we’re still over the moon.  I feel incredibly blessed to have my precious Princess Brigade.

~*~*~

Often times I get a stamp set that I think can only be used one way.  If I sit back and look at the sum of the parts, I can generally see it in another light.

For this card, I used the egg dies to create Jesus’ tomb with the boulder rolled away.

~Easter Wreath~

I must admit straight off that my brain is NOT on making cards, right now.   We’re heading to my #1 son’s house to babysit our 2 yr old granddaughter, LilyAna.  All the while, her mommy and daddy are going to the hospital to bring the little sister home.  I’ve made a huge list of arts and crafts we’ll be doing to keep her busy.  I can’t wait!!

I know I’ve mentioned it before that Easter is my favorite holiday.  I am just loving these bright colors from the Echo Park Welcome Easter paper pad.

The fact that Easter is merely 28 days away boggles my mind.

~Easter Daffodils~

It’s March!  I can hardly believe it.  We’ve had such a mild winter and the temps are suppose to be in the 50s & 60s for the next 10 days.  Thank you, Mother Nature!!

I’m staying in the Easter card mode.  I actually need more Easter cards than Christmas.  Fortunately, The Stamp Simply Ribbon store has a few new Easter sets.

And just in case you’re following… 8 days until the next McMillen granddaughter arrives.  I’m just a tad excited.

This is my first Daffodil stamp and I love it!!  The matching die cuts it nice and close.
