~Christmas in a Box~
October 30th, 2017 by Holly McMillen
Anyone who has been in my studio knows that I have a little bit of everything and a whole bunch of somethings. Egg cartons, pill bottles, recycled packaging… just a lot of desirable finds.
You probably know that I’m down to just a few days for the baby shower I’m hosting for my newest daughter in love, Kalika. This is my first baby shower, but I’ve done parties and helped with a wedding or two. I love love love party planning. I’m a detail girl.
So one of the items I purchased for the shower came in a 4.25″ square acrylic box. I loved it so much, I knew exactly what I wanted to do for today’s post.

Now Sharon carries the clear boxes in several sizes in the store @ The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. You could use this same concept with any of those.
What I did was built my card INSIDE the box and decorated the outside. It presents as a fun little shadowbox card.
Here it is with the insides pulled out.
Even after I finished this, I thought of a couple ways to improve on the design, so I may be back with another version!

The lid opens with poinsettia intact.

I used:
Stamp Simply Clear Stamps – Wonder of Christmas Sentiments
Kaisercraft – 6.5 x 6.5″ – Letters to Santa
Spectrum Noir Ultrasmooth Premium White cardstock
Spellbinders Nestabilities – Labels 20
Spellbinders – Layered Poinsettia
1/4″ Seambinding – Dusty Olive
Prima – Say it in Crystals (swirls)
Kaisercraft – Rhinestones – Red
Thermaweb 3D 1/4″ foam squares
I used recycled packaging from a recent purchase, however, the clear boxes seen here would also work:
Clear crystal boxes 5.5″ x 5.5″
Other:
Red cardstock
Green cardstock
Gold Nuvo Drops
