~Explosion Box~
February 8th, 2016 by Holly McMillen
Sitting on the patio this morning (remember, it’s February in the Rockies)… listening to the snow melt off the building. I took a deep breath and let it go slowly. The air was definitely crisp, but the sun was intense. My mind went to thoughts of spring. I can’t wait to smell fresh cut grass. Spring rain smells amazing when it hits concrete. I think I experienced a little bit of heaven.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to make one of these explosion boxes. I had bookmarked Darsie Bruno’s tutorial on Youtube some time ago. You can view it HERE.
Quite a bit o work went into this. I enjoyed every second. I did kinda cry a little when I realized I wouldn’t be needing any ribbon!
I used the gorgeous Graphic 45 Guilded Lily paper. The soft colors make me think of early spring.
Imagine the possibilities!
I used:
Stamp Simply Ribbon Store clear stamps – Wedding Wishes
Graphic 45 – Guilded Lily 8 x 8
Spellbinders Die – Scalloped Pop Up Box
Spellbinders Die – Cinch and Go Flowers
Spellbinders Die – Flower Bundle
Spellbinders Die – Foliage
Spellbinders Die – Les Papillions
Memento Dye Ink Pad – Tuxedo Black
Spellbinders Die – Lacey Circles
Spellbinders Die – Standard Circles Small
Melissa Frances Pearls – Cream
