~ Time does NOT heal all wounds ~
August 31st, 2015 by Holly McMillen
I’m one happy mama, today. The hubster and I were able to get face time with the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. It was more than I could have asked for when my future daughter-in-law openly shared pictures of her wedding dress and other details I had yet to be privy to. It’s hard being the mother of the groom!
Happy mama = crafty mama. I put in a good deal of the day in the studio. Here’s what I made:
It’s never enjoyable to think about needing a sympathy card, but life is life and there will be deaths. I am always taken aback by people who offer up the platitude, ” Time heals all wounds”. No. No it does not. It changes the wounds and you can learn some valuable lessons from them, but they never heal.
I’ve found that (for me), scripture gives the grief some hope. So, a few years back I design a little purse that holds tiny cards with scripture.
Each scripture is chosen with the emphasis on mourning.

The scriptures were typed and printed on my printer.
For this project, I used Stamp Simply Clear Stamps, Deepest Sympathy, Many Thanks, and Wedding Wishes.
The bag and card are made with Graphic 45 Gilded Lily 8 x 8 and Graphic 45 Gilded Lily 6×6 Patterns and Solids
Melissa Francis cream pearls, Venise Lace 1.75″ Gabriella Ivory
Piercing template, ball chain, oval punch, brushed silver brads, label punch

The bag is based on the “bag in a box” tutorial found on Splitcoaststampers.com in the resources section.
Selected scriptures used here are:
Matthew 5:4
Matthew 11:28
Isaiah 41:10
Psalm 18:28
Psalm 30:5
Psalm 119:50

Beautiful! This is such a thoughtful idea. Could you list the verses you included? You can’t see them all in the photo.
I love this idea. I hope to make my own version to give to family members during difficult times.
