~ The Elusive Male Valentine! ~
February 6th, 2011 by Holly McMillen
Hi friends 🙂
It’s been an interesting weekend. Â I ended up in the ER on Saturday afternoon after several days of fighting with severe chest congestion. Â The diagnosis is bronchitis. Â I have had a couple bouts with bronchitis over the last 20 years and I’ll tell you it’s no fun. Â My chest feels like someone is standing on it and every muscle in my body is screaming. Â Some antibiotics and an inhaler are on hand now, so we’ll see how this goes. Â I’m still feeling major cruddy, but I’m keeping in motion.
This week’s Technique Lovers Challenge is a project brought to us by Kim Score. Â It’s called a Sliding Pop-Up card. Â Kim’s creativity has always been on my radar. Â I don’t think there’s a thing the girl can’t make out of punches! Â You can find the tutorial for the Sliding Pop Up Card HERE.
I am in need of several valentines for the men in my life, so I took this opportunity to step up to that challenge. Â Here’s what I came up with:
See that acorn sitting on the patterned paper? Â I was in the middle of coloring the lower hearts and dropped my red copic right on the card! Â I had to slap that acorn on there to cover my booboo.
Here’s what it looks like closed up:
Fun, huh?
Here are the deets:
Stamps: Â Squirrel ~ There She Goes’ You’re So Punny, Tree ~ There She Goes’ Happy Day, Hearts ~ There She Goes’ Chemistry.
Colors: Kraft, Bashful Blue, Kiwi Kiss, GP White, Paper Studio designer paper
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics, white gel pen
Accessories: scoring blade, 1″ circle punch, sticky tape, dimensionals

Hugs.
This is just DARLING! I love all the patterned paper used to make your scene!
Glad to hear you are set with drugs and an inhaler to get you on the road to recovery! Your card is darling and your accidental need for an acorn turned out great 🙂 Keep warm and get well (((hugs)))
well the accident with your marker worked out great because the acorn looks like it was meant to be there! I love your super cute card!
TOTALLY cute!!!!
Oh my gosh Holly, this is so totally adorable! I love it! So sorry you’ve been under the weather, I hope you’re feeling better soon!
you make me blush with your flattery! LOL. Super cute card. I think the marker accident was a happy mistake because the little acorn looks so cute on there. Love that stamp. It looks so alive!
