Hi Friends!

Well, after a long break from hosting the Technique Lover’s Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com, I am back :).   I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the girls (MariLynn, Amber, Julie and Cher) for stepping up to the plate and challenging us with some great TLCs.   As usual, my rock Joan was there every other week to keep the ball rolling.   Stampers are the greatest people!   Thanks so much, girls!!

I’ve read post after post, over the years, by people who have “lost their mojo”.    I remember when I was a new stamper and it would happen.  I would about freak.   I thought I would never want to stamp again and there I had all this STUFF!  Well, I’ve learned  over the years that there are numerous ways to kickstart that mojo.   Playing in the SCS challenges is one of the best ways!

Today’s Technique Lovers Challenge is called Mojo Motivator.   The instructions are to choose a TLC from the list #255-306.   Then choose a Color Combo from #275 – 304.  And finally, choose a Sketch Challenge sketch from #215- 314.   There…. you only job left is to pick an image and some embellies!

Here’s my choices:    I chose TLC264 (DP by Me), CC298 (Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake) and SC242…. and that got me this:

I do not own any Crumb Cake card stock, but I wasn’t letting that stop me!   I opened the SU website and pulled up a picture of the Crumb Cake card stock.  Then I opened up MS Paint and created a box.   I maniuplated the color fill until it was as close to Crumb Cake as I could get.   Then I saved that as a jpg file.   I then opened up the jpg file on the Picnik.com site and added the corner flourishes.  I also antiqued the paper just a bit and saved.   I then put that jpg into a word doc in Microsoft Word and printed.   I then added more flourishes from the There She Goes Dream Big set and there you have my custom dp!

I also colored and cut out the flowers from the There She Goes Dance set.   I pounced them on my versamark pad and clear embossed them so that they shine :).

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes’ Dream Big and There She Goes’ Dance

Colors: GP White, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, DP by Me!

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Tim Holtz tea bag and antique photo distressing Ink, Versamark, copics

Accessories: Brown 1/2 pearls, corner rounder, clear embossing powder, holly embossing folder, dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!   I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit 🙂

Hugs!

And there is also the other side of the coin… when you have a bunch of ideas floating in your head and no time to create! And then there are those perfect moments.. like this card.. when it all comes together. Gorgeous, Holly!! LOVE those rich warm colors!
