~ Looking Ahead ~

 tlc-i-am-closeup.jpg

Hi Friends!

I am really looking forward to the events of this week.   The weather forecast is a bit calmer and the boys and I have some outdoor activities planned.   I also have three days of Our Craft Lounge hops and peeks to share starting Wednesday.   It is going to be a good week!!

As I type this, the boys are out doing yard work.   Is it me, or is the smell of fresh cut grass intoxicating?!  Hahaha… or maybe it’s the fumes from the lawnmower… I dunno.   It just smell like spring.

Today’s Technique Lover’s challenge over on Splitcoaststampers.com will hopefully entice many to play.   What we’re doing this week is what I call “Ramp it up (or down)!”.    Back in the day, when I was with the dirty dozen, we had a team challenge called MORE IS MORE.   The idea is to take a clean and simple card and add to the design to make it a “more” card.   Or, if you’re already a “more” stamper, you could ramp your design down and make it a clean and simple card.

I chose this card that I made back in February of ’09:

To make it a MORE card, I added a layer, did some embossing, moved the flowers from the sentiment panel and popped them up,  added candy dots and some of Sharon Johnson’s luscious satin ribbon.

Here are my deets:

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs’ I am The Way

Colors: GP White, Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Always Artichoke

Accessories: 1″ Satin Ribbon (olive); Bow Easy, Candy Dots, embossing folders, photo corner punch, oval nesties, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!   I hope you’ll pop over to the challenge forums on SCS and play along!   Blessings!

Holly

Love the remake. Gorgeous bow and I love the touch of yellow. When life settles down a bit I want to do a few of your challenges. I’ve been running with my hair on fire for about three weeks now and have about two more to go.

I too just love the “smell” of spring!! Love the pops of colour and new growth as it always a great reminder of new life not only in nature but how we can have new life on a daily basis because each day is a new day 😀 Have a great week 😀

WOW – love the ‘More is more’ version Holly – woo hoo! The Candy dots, the butterfly with petite pearls and big bold bow (which I am beginning to think is your signature ‘thang’) really catch my eye.

If you want you can come over to may house – our garage smells like fresh cut grass since I mowed the lawn yesterday. I tell ya – bagging those clippings puts SO much pressure on my back (I have two crappy discs) – I do not hve the same love of that grass smell that you do, LOL. I love the smell of bleach – it reminds me of swimming pools… LOL!
