Hello, Friends!

The discussion of art vs craft comes up every now and again and I have wavered over the years as to what side of the track I have put papercrafts.    When I first started dabbling in this medium, I definitely thought of it as a craft.   I think mostly because I took my ideas from what I had seen others do.

Art being relative, I now categorize papercrafting as such.   A delicate dance of details.   Stand in your studio sometime and look around at the elements you use to create your projects.   Ink and paper… the pallet of colors.   Stamps are the brushstrokes that create a focal point.   All these things, when used in a certain proportion  create art.   You are the choreographer.   The finished product is the dance.

For this week’s Technique Lover’s Challenge, I chose paper piecing.   Popular several years ago, paper piecing has really been overlooked my most.   We tend to have all these tools, punches, die cuts, etc. and we look at them for face value, but do you look at them and see their possibilities?    That’s what I am encouraging you to do, today.

The cat tails were inspired by Meredith Burnsed’s awesome punch sheets that she posted on Splitcoaststampers a couple of years ago.   Meredith (memory_lane) has an incredible gift for seeing potential in a punch.

Your 3D pram would be such an adorable table decoration or gift accompaniment for a baby shower; none of them in the near future for me!

Without thinking, I commented on the pram and not on the cat tail card, Very beautiful and creative. I might even try to case it!
