~ A Merry Sketch ~
December 15th, 2009 by Holly McMillen
Good evening!
I am so excited!!! Roxie (Rox71 on SCS) contacted me last week and asked if I would like to host this week’s Sketch Challenge on SCS. I didn’t have to think for even a second on that question! Of course!! Making sketches is a late night past time of mine. When I can’t sleep, I play in MS paint.
So……… today I bring you this sketch to challenge you!
Flip it, Square it, use it like it is…whatever you do, have fun! The top layer can be any shape you wish! Check out the thread on Splitcoaststampers for more info.
Here are my two samples. For the first one, I kept the orientation as landscape.
I used a circle as my centerpiece.
Here are my deets:
Stamps: JustRite Stampers’ Old Fashioned Christmas (from Stamp Simply)
Colors: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Kaiserkraft Dear Santa dps (from Stamp Simply)
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, copics,Tim Holtz’ distressing ink (tea bag and antique photo)
Accessories: Wide striped ribbon (also from Stamp Simply), button, jute, circle punch, circle maker (su), MS branch punch, dimensionals
For my second sample, I flipped the sketch to portrait and used an oval as my center piece.
Here are my deets:
Stamps: Sentiment from There She Goes’ HSH Holiday Additions
Colors: GP White, Night of Navy, Real Red, Always Artichoke
Ink: Night of Navy, copics
Accessories: White grosgrain, 1/2″ circle punch, MS branch punch, word window punch, oval punches, scalloped oval punch, drippey goo punch, stickles, white gel pen, oval nesties, Holly ribbons embossing folder, dimensionals

I wanted to do a third sample with the sketch squared, but I just had NO time. I am sure the gallery will be full of fun samples, so make sure you check it out!!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a blessed day!
Hugs!

Loved them on SCS and loving them here too 😀 Didn’t notice the melted candle wax on the ones on SCS – it is fabulous what you did! Wish sketches came to me that easy LOL! Needless to say, that is why I’m so thankful for all the sketches others post LOL! My one creative gene can only do so much!
What gorgeous cards… and an awesome sketch, must work on this one soon 🙂
I really love your candle card, thanks so much for sharing and for doing the sketch challenge.
