Good Morning, girls!

Ok, I have to start by *geeking* a bit.   My good friend, Deb Felts (debdeb on SCS) made the Dirty Dozen this month!!!   Deb is not only a fabulous stamper, she is sweet, and kind and just everything you’d want in a friend.   Congrats, Deb!!!   I am soooooooo happy for you!!!!

Ok, so I did the TLC this morning.   When I saw the challenge, I stressed a bit, because I knew I only had ONE color of acrylic paint and no metallic at all.   So, I got to thinking.   Dangerous, I know.   What I set out to do and what I ended up with are two totally different things…but I like it!

I started with a piece of True Thyme cardstock because it was the closest to the dark sage acrylic paint that I had.   I dabbed the paint over my cardstock and smoothed it out with a sponge.   I didn’t like that result.   I used a little toilet paper as Lynn had suggested, but I didn’t like that result either.   I added more paint and smoothed it over.   Then I got to thinking that the color reminded me of my DH’s golf club bag (a faux leather look), so I drew lines in the paint and heat set it just a little.   Then I took a gold painty pen and added a little bit of gold ‘blobs’ to the surface.   You can barely see those as I covered it … doh!   After it dried, it really looks like faux leather!   Happy!  Score!  Or should I say “Fore”!?

I hadn’t intended this to be a father’s day card, but when it came out looking like the golf bag, I figured why not?   I needed a couple of those for the boys to give to their dad anyway :).

Here are my deets:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up!’s Many Mower

Colors: True Thyme, GP White, Only Orange

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, gold painty pen, copics

Accessories: acrylic paint, spongue, brads, ribbon, hole punch, MS border punch, toilet paper, bone folder, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!   I hope you have a blessed day!
