Happy Tuesday 🙂

It was a rough night in the McMillen household.   My DH was on the road to Aspen when his truck started overheating.   He called me about 6pm and was sitting on the side of the road waiting for it to cool down so he could get it to a service area… uh, yeah, on Memorial day?  He finally called again at 9pm and had found a place to buy coolant and got back on the road.   It wasn’t until nearly midnight that he called to say he had arrived in Snowmass Village.    It was a 4 hour trip that took him 8+ hours.   Poor guy was exhausted.   I couldn’t sleep after that, so I stayed up watching TV until nearly 4am and finally fell asleep until my son woke me at 6am to take them to school.   I am SOOOOOOOO going to take a nap today!!!

Anywho… I vowed that I would do alot of stamping this week to keep me busy while the hubby is away.   When I saw the Color Combination challenge this morning, I was kinda psyched.   I really have a new affection for So Saffron.   It goes with brights and it goes with earthy…. really a well rounded color :).

So, here is what I did….

I stamped the lighthouse image on the Bashful Blue cardstock, then colored it with copics and watercolor pencils.    I created a window with my oval nestie and popped it out.   I added some pearls and a double butterfly and called it done!

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  Our Craft Lounge‘s Coastal Wishes

Colors: So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, GP White

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, copics, watercolor pencils

Accessories: 1/2 pearls, ribbon, oval nesties, SU eyelet border punch, dimensionals

Oh Holly I’m so sorry you had such a stressful night, but extremely thankful that your DH arrived safely!! There must have been some reason that he was held up for so long….we had a lot of things like that happen when I was a kid, my Mum always said that God must have been keeping us from being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Your card is fantastic!!! Love the colours and layout, all the pearls and beautiful colouring!!
