~Ask the DT~

 Good Morning!

Well, it has been an interesting week so far.   And it is only Tuesday!   I have seriously considered not stamping while my arm heals.  It seems like I am struggling more and more each day just to get something done.   I did today’s color challenge in the wee hours of the morning and by the time I got it loaded to my computer, I was too pooped to post.   I am just now waking up at 8am!

I honestly dislike these colors together.   I know alot of people love green/orange/yellow combos, but they just look washed out, to me.  I used our There She Goes’ challenge layout, which I like, but maybe I just arranged the colors wrong, cuz it is not growing on me.

Deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes’ You’re So Punny

Colors: Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, GP white

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: candy dots, ribbon, swirls EF, pinked nesties, dimensionals

Earlier this week, we (the There She Goes’ design team) posed the question to our readers, “What one question would you ask the Design Team?”.    We compiled those questions and now we are each answering them on our blogs…. but!… before I get to that, I want to give you some BIG NEWS!!!

The There She Goes Design team is now the TRENDSETTERS!   Not only are we now called the Trendsetters, we have brought some new faces onboard…. And without further ado, we bring you:

Becky Carafa (beccabatgirl)

Christi Thorsen (Cici510)

Jessie Rone (knightrone)

Joanne Grzelak (jojot)

Jodi Collins (kharmagirl)

Julie Lacey (juliemlacey)

Doesn’t that just rock!?   There is some serious talent in that list!!!   I, for one, cannot wait to get to know them all.   You can see each of the  design team blogs here:

Now, on to the questions!
1. What do you typically start a project with? What’s picked first: stamps, embellishments, DP, colors…..?

I generally have a stamp set in mind that I want to use.   Unless it is a specific challenge, such as Technique Lovers.   In those cases, I consider the technique I am using prior to getting a stamp set out.   Embellishments for me are an afterthought.   I need to think of those more often as I have a ton of them!

2. Do you give away your cards, sell them, send them or hoard them? Or all of the above??

I do a little of all of that.   I sell quite a few, I send alot and I do have a tendancy to hoard my favorites!

3. If you could design your own stamp or stamp set, what would it be?”

Well, since I have designed a set or two, I would say I would like to do a male oriented set next.   I have such difficulty with male cards, I think I could come up with something I could use!

4. Where do you get your inspiration?

As silly as it may sound, my inspiration comes from God.   To clarify that, I feel that God is everywhere, so I get my inspiration from nature, people, color and just about anything the eye can see.

5. How do you balance your stamping time with your personal time/work/kids/etc.?

I am fortunate that I am a SAHM.   Being disabled since 2000, I have had the luxury of doing what I want when I want.   My boys are nearly grown, so they need little MOM time.   They are also great about helping out around the house…even organizing my studio!

6. What is your favorite embellishment?

Ribbon… handsdown

7. What is something that not a lot of people know about you?

Hmmm… well, I am bipolar mixed.   I don’t share that with alot of people, because bipolar is a disease and it does not define me.   It does however intervene with my stamping/crafting sometimes.

8. On average how long does it take to create one of these fabulous cards we see each week??

I would say an hour tops.   Only because I fuss alot over layers.   They have to be exactly the right size or I will toss the whole thing aside and start over.

9. What is your favorite coloring medium?

Copic markers, by far.   Although they are expensive (trust me I know… I am already needing to replace several!)

10. What time of day do you prefer to do your creating?

Anytime!   I have been known to stamp in the middle of the night or the middle of the afternoon.

These came from my sweet friend Kathy, so I am going to answer them, as well:

Stamping Questions:
1) Favorite colour combo:   Black, Red, White and Green

2) Favorite card they’ve made:   Couldn’t name just one, sorry… too many to call favorites.

Personal Questions:
1) How did you and DH meet:  He was in the Navy stationed at Moffett Field NAS.  He was dating my best friend and she introduced us.  Big mistake on her part! LOL

2) Favorite vacation destination/or where you’d want to go:  Seriously!?  Either Ireland or Australia!
3) Pet Peeve you have:   Oy… what gets me most is the useless threads on SCS.  They take up so much room where stamping related threads could be.   But don’t get me started! LOL
4) Favorite season of the year:   Spring first, then Fall.    I love cool crisp mornings and warm days.

Ok.  I think that’s it!   I had better get busy pulling this day together as I have some NEW stuff to share tomorrow!!!

Thanks for stoppng by!  Hope you have a blessed day!
