~ The Ying and The Yang ~

stamp-pads-blog-photo.jpg    I gotta tell ya…. it has been a roller coaster of emotions  today.

First, I have to tell you about this photo.   Someone on Splitcoasters got wind of my lost stamp pads (they were lost in our move) and started a private campaign to replace my stamp pads.   Now, I have always known the kindness of stampers, but this one takes the cake.   You see, they (whom wish to remain anonymous ~ You know who you are! *wink*) got together and purchased the entire set, including In Colors and even threw in some retired In Colors for me.   When I found out about it, I was speachless.  My jaw hit the floor and I kept thinking…. how can I accept such a gift?   Then I talked with a friend of mine who pointed out to me that blessings such as these come along and we are just to accept them and pay it forward when we can.  I know I will.  This is a blessing I cannot forget!

So…. to you all who were involved in this endeavor…. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.   I am truly touched by your generosity….. and it goes way beyond the stamp pads, if you know what I mean.   SCSers are just the best people on the face of this earth!

And so the yang……..

christmas-tree-martha-stewart-style.jpg   My Aunt Marci had chemotherapy today.   When they did her pre-treatment bloodwork, they found her white cell count to be dangerously low.   Her immune system is basically shutting down.   She now has to wear a mask around other people.   When she got home from therapy, we had a little therapy of our own.    We sat down and played with my paper, punches and cuttlebug and made this little tree.

You can find the whole story on how we made it on SCS here.

I’m exhausted from the rollercoaster day and am heading to bed.    I, once again, want to say thanks to those who have said prayers for Marci and continue to do so.

CC193 ~Friendship Flowers~

friendship-flowers.jpg   Here it is at 2am and I’m wide awake.   I guess in all the emotions of the day, I forgot to take my medication and can’t be bothered with sleep.    So, I checked out the color challenge and decided to give it a whirl…. hoping it would make me tired.

Em is not going to like it much, but I am fresh out of Kraft and went with the Creamy Caramel instead… which was fortuitous as my gorgeous Wassail paper has that color in it! *Score*

I had several people in mind when making this card, so I may have to do a few more with this sentiment.   It is one of my favorites from There She Goes.

Here are the deets on my card:

Stamps:  There She Goes’ Friendship Flowers

Colors:  Basic Black, Real Red, Creamy Caramel, Basic Grey Wassail DP

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black

Accessories: brad, black velvet ribbon, narrow red ribbon, ribbon punch, MS lace punch, small circle punch, hole punch, large white flowers.

Now I shall try once again to sleep 🙂

TFL and blessings to all!

    Happy early Christmas, Holly!!! Wow!!

I am humbled when someone does me a favour and being a giver by nature, it is very hard for me to accept things at times. However, as someone once told me, think about how you feel when someone doesn’t want to accept or makes an excuse for the gift you have given them etc. It can take so much of the joy out of your giving it to them or make me mad at the fact they won’t just accept it. Yup, had to eat crow a few times and I now know to thank them or as your friend said, make sure you do the same for someone else.

Enjoy playing with your goodies and we’ll enjoy seeing your creations!!

Thanks for the info – will get one out this weekend if not before.

Blessings and a hug for you and your aunt Marci.

First off, your card is just gorgeous–I love the wonderful quote! The tree you and your aunt made is so cute and I know that it has to be some of the best therapy for her! Just to forget about our troubles and get lost in the fun of creating something, is the best treatment ever! I sure hope things start to go better for her.
As for your accepting the gift of stamp pads, just think how much you enrich the lives of other stampers with your beautiful creations! You truly have a wonderful gift for making lovely cards and it gives so many, such inspiration. I’m really glad you chose to accept such a wonderful gift, so that we can all enjoy your cards!
