CC192 ~ Winter Wishes ~

winter-wishes.jpg   Good morning, Ya’ll 🙂

I went to bed last night determined that whatever the colors were this morning, I was going to make a Christmas card.  I have only made a few Christmas gifts and nothing in the card category and it’s November 11th!   Much to my suprise, the colors today are Basic Gray, Pacific Point and Certainly Celery…. not exactly Christmas colors, so the challenge was going to be doubly hard for me.  LOL

I received new Hambos yesterday!!!!!   Monica rocks!   She sent me some of the cutest stamps to work with for Christmas.   I finally pulled out my Hambo stash, too, so I can get back to coloring my ‘babies’.

Here are the deets on my Hambo Christmas card #1:

Stamps:  Tree and sentiment by Hambo Stamps

Colors:  Basic Gray, Pacific Point, Certainly Celery, GP White, TAC DP

Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Copics

Accessories: snowflake brads, ribbon, dimensionals, snowflake EF (cuttlebug), scalloped oval circles, hole punch, scissors

congrats-gabe.jpg   I have some exciting news, too!

My nephew Gabriel, my brother’s son, is testing for his black belt this weekend.   I talked with my brother last evening and he told me that Gabe is 99.9% ready…. just a little nervous.   Gabe is 11 yrs old and has been in Karate for 6 years.   I would say that is quite an accomplishment for such a young boy!   I am so proud of him!!!

So, Auntie Holly got busy last night and made him a congrats card.   I used Karen Foster snap stamps to create the background and sentiment.  I did alot of doodling on it too.   I didn’t want it to look girlie, so I kept the layout pretty simple.

Here are the deets on Gabe’s card:

Stamps:  Karate kid by Stampabilities, Karen  Foster snap stamps for background and sentiment

Colors: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Real Red, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Cat’s eye Cranberry Red, Copics

Accessories:  brads, ribbon, oval punches, scalloped circle punches, scissors, white gel pen, dimensionals

TFL and have a blessed day!

This turned out so cute Holly! Definitely not the colors I’d normally think of for Christmas, and yet it works! 🙂

… and I meant to comment on what a great job you did with the karate kid too! 😉 Brilliant!

Both cards are wonderful, Holly! I love the tree with the hat on top! The karate card is great–love the image! My SIL is a 3rd degree black belt–it sounds like your nephew has really worked hard, to be testing at the age of 11!
