LSC197 ~ Silver Snow ~
December 5th, 2008 by Holly McMillen
Hey, don’t let the early hour fool you, I did actually sleep last night! 🙂 I went to bed at 7:30pm and woke at 3:30am. That is a full 8 hours! Woohoo!! Marci did really well last night, too! Praise God!
Ya know, I am truly a blessed person. I think I was telling ya’ll about having the spot on my arm removed a few days ago. Well, the biopsy came back and there were atypical cells. I went back to the dermatologist yesterday for further treatment and he explained to me that had I waited any longer we may have been looking at a melanoma, but because we caught it in time, they just had to do a little more scraping and I should now be clear! I told him to go easy on me though, as it is my stamping arm….lol.
Today’s LSC, posted by Wendy (Wendybell) was a fun one. Actually it is one I have done quite a bit of this year. Monochromatic snowflakes. I did chocolate snow, pink snow and now silver snow.
The requirements were, no snowmen or other images, just snowflakes. The card/project had to include sparkle. I was stumped for a few as I don’t have any gray ink and I wanted my snowflakes to be ‘silverish’ on the background. So, I stamped them in black, then went over top of them with white…. voila.. gray snowflakes!
Here are my deets:
Stamps: Wal*Mart snowflakes and sentiment (can you believe that?!)
Colors: Basic Black, GP White, Brushed Silver
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, White Craft
Accessories: Brads, Ribbon, dimensionals, MS lace punch, large snowflake punch, MS snowflake punch, circle punch, oval punches, silver cording, stickles, 1/2 pearl, ribbon threading punch.
TFL!~ and have a blessed day!
I just LOVE this card!! The snowflakes are great. I’m being taunted by that lace border punch again LOL 🙂 Love how you did the ribbon at the bottom and put the snowflakes on the sentiment. Wonderful job!
Glad to hear the good news re: the spot you had removed. Good for you for going in – things are so much easier to deal with when caught early! Glad your stamping arm fully functional too – lucky us 🙂 Best news is Marci had a good night. Please give her a hug for me. Blessings.
Beautiful card. I have admired your cards for some time. I love how you put together many different snowflake punchs. You are so creavtive. Wonderful take to went to the doctor early. I look forward to seeing what you create in 2009.
Merry Merry Christmas
