Happy Saturday!

If it’s Saturday, then it must be time for another Ribbon Inspiration post!  This week we’re Mad about Mom!   I suggest you start back on Sharon Johnson’s blog in order to find out how you can be eligible for today’s blog prize.  It is a mystery blog candy, meaning that the winner can be chosen from any of the blogs involved.

I could talk about my mom all day.  She was an amazing person.   On May 26th, it will be the 20th anniversary of her passing.   And then, my Mother-In-Law is equally as amazing!  She is 85 years old and still lives alone.  She travels quite a bit with one of her friends.   I only wish to be as active as she is at her age!

My project today is a gift for her.

My MIL is one of the people that keeps every card I make for her.   She truly does appreciate what I put into them.

She lives 1500 miles away, so we’re going to seek out the perfect gift to put inside this little picnic basket I made for her…

I’m thinking jewelry.  The box is actually sizable.  It is 4 3/4″ x 3 3/8″ and is 2″ deep.   I lined the inside with the designer paper and then added a pink check fabric “bed”.

Pardon the thumb shot :).

Here is the duo together…

Since I don’t have my wonderful mom with me any more, my newest tradition is to make beautiful Mother’s Day cards and I give them to my co-workers (by the way they aren’t crafty at all!!), they cherish each card and love the fact they have something handmade with love to give to their moms!!!
