Hello, Friends!

Well, we have successfully celebrated another Christmas here in the McMillen household.  Our motto this year was “It’s not what’s under your tree that matters… it only matters who’s around it”.   My boys genuinely embraced that attitude.  For Christmas Eve, we had a nice spread of finger foods and several of the boys’ friends dropped by and visited.  There was lots of chatter and laughter and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and each other.

There were no presents under the tree this year and quite honestly, there hasn’t been for a few years now.   The good part is, we’re all ok with that.  The kitten plopped himself down on the tree skirt this morning and took a nap while we ate our traditional cinnamon rolls and had coffee.   I slipped in a little crafting while my ham was baking and this evening we enjoyed a wonderful dinner with a guest once more.  I count myself very blessed.

I was watching a video on etiquette a while back and was sort of stunned to find out that it is proper to send out Thank You notes for Christmas presents.   I don’t know why it never occurred to me that you should do that.

So, today’s Technique Lover’s Challenge on SCS is making quick and easy to reproduce Christmas thank you notes.  One more chance to use those Christmas stamps!! 🙂

And, since I didn’t receive any gifts and haven’t for quite a few years, I thought these would be great for our service personnel (i.e. postman, garbage man, etc.).   In Canada, Australia and Great Britain, there is Boxing Day.  It falls on the day after Christmas and is the day that people give these types of “Thank You” gifts to service persons.  It’s also the day for giving to the needy.

So, to go with my Thank You (which my mail lady will receive), I made a little gifty…

This fun little cone shaped box is perfect for holding candies or cash!
