Hello, friends!

The last couple of days have been a huge blur.  Monday night around 9:30pm, I got a call from my son Noah saying that he was in a lot of pain.   He and a couple of his friends were up in Ft. Collins, about 20 minutes away.   I told him to come right home and we would see what we could do.   A little bit later, his friend Alex called me and said they were heading straight to the hospital as his mom, an ER nurse, suspected Noah had an appendicitis.  I was out the door and met them at the hospital about 15 minutes later.   It was a long night.   Around 1am, the ER doctor confirmed that it was indeed an appendicitis and Noah would have surgery early the next morning.   I finally arrived home a little after 2am and being wound up, I couldn’t sleep.   I woke my husband at 5am to tell him the news (he had slept through it all!).   We were at the hospital 45 minutes later and Noah was already in surgery.   We got to see him briefly after the surgery and were told that he would be release in a couple hours.   He was home and resting on the couch by 11am!  Praise God!  He is doing well.

Needless to say, I slept like a rock last night.   I had a tough time getting up even at 9am this morning.   That’s so unlike me, but it sure felt good.

So, today I decided to start my day with a little stamping.   I combined today’s SCS sketch challenge (#333) with the Color Throwdown challenge #142 (black, lime green and gray)

Here’s what I came up with:

Most supplies provided by Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  Verve Plain Janes’  Amazing Grace

Colors: GP White, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Green Galore, retired SU dps

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black , Green Galore

Accessories:  1/2″ sheer lime green polka dot ribbon, black and lime green 1/2 pearls (Kaisercraft), oval nestabilities, retired shapeabilities medallion, black flourish puff sticker, dimensionals, sticky tape

Fabulous combination of the 2 challenges! What a scare you had! It’s so hard when it’s your own child in that kind of pain, especially if you’re not there! I’m glad he’s ok and that you got to be there for him. Thanks for playing along with us at the Color Throwdown!!

Oh Holly, what a scare that was! I wouldn’t have been able to sleep a wink that first night either. Glad to hear they caught it in time and were able to do surgery first thing the next morning. Hope your son is feeling MUCH better! On a happy note, you’ll never have to worry about him having appendicitis again ;]

Your card is stunning and so appropriate for your family this week. Looks like your adrenaline surge really got your creative juices flowing :] Love how you made the sentiment your focal point and that black, leafy accent is gorgeous!

Thanks for playing along with the Color Throwdown this week!

Oh, Holly! That’s so, so scary! I would have been a wreck. Glad everything is okay now, though, and that Noah is doing well. And so happy you played the Color Throwdown today! I’ve missed you, GF! Putting you back in my reader THIS MINUTE! Let’s reconnect, old buddy! 🙂 Your card is lovely (as always), btw. (((Holly)))

Absolutely LOVE your card. You have used those colours and sketch to perfection! So glad to hear Noah made it through surgery okay and so glad him fiend’s mom was a nurse and sent him straight to the hospital. Don’t want those things bursting on you, that’s for sure. I’m sure you will give him lots of motherly love 🙂

So glad your son is doing well now.

This is a great card…has some classic details, but a hip, fun color scheme!
