~ Get Well, George! ~
March 8th, 2011 by Holly McMillen
Hi Friends,
My husband grew up in a tiny little town on the fringe of the Allegheny National Forest (Northwestern PA). He lived there his entire life until he enlisted in the US Navy in 1978. He lived in the same house from the time he was born and his mother lives in that house today. His next door neighbor growing up still lives in the house he was raised in and a couple years back he bought my husband’s childhood home to that my mother in law could continue to live there without worrying about the upkeep. These are the way things happen in a small town.
We got word a few days ago that another of my husband’s childhood friends was in a serious snowmobile accident. He broke his back in two places and broke his neck. Every time something like this happens to one of the residents of this small town, it’s felt twofold. They are fiercely protective of their own.
So, our prayers go out to George and his family. May the good Lord heal your broken body and bring comfort to your kin.
George owns a hardware store. I thought this sentiment and images from OCL’s Nailed It set were perfect for George’s get well card.
George will have a long road to recovery, but he’s always been a hard worker 🙂

Healing wishes to George. This is a beautiful card and bound to cheer him.
Love the story about your hubby’s home town. Makes me wish it were that way in many towns in the world as it takes a town to raise a child and there is so much security and joy being able to know the loyalty and ties you can have with neighbours and friends. I’m sure George will really appreciate this card 🙂
You “nailed” this card! I love the embossing, the colors, the fact that it’s a MASCULINE get well card.
We would love if you shared this our challenge blog The Paper Variety 🙂 Link us in your post for a chance to win a very springy prize, too!
