~ It’s all about the inspiration ~
February 12th, 2011 by Holly McMillen
Hi friends!
Oh my. It’s been an amazing day here in Colorado. Highs near 60. Sun shining like nobody’s business. I hit a massive sale at Hobby Lobby (everything I bought was 50% off!). Yet, I spent the better part of the day in the studio. I’ve made quite a few valentines this year, but all have been sold. So, today I needed to get my boys set for their girls.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~ CAS *LOVE* ~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I had made the test tube candy holder a couple weeks back, so today I made a card to go with it.
I used the new There She Goes mini *LOVE* set (hearts and flourish) and I used JustRite Stampers Happy Everything Mini Tag kit (sentiment) from Stamp Simply Ribbon store. I used some really old Pink Passion card stock from SU. I am thinking this is pretty CAS for me, so I’m classifying it that!
~*~*~*~*~* Amy’s Valentine *~*~*~*~*~
My oldest son’s girl, Amy, is not really the frilly type, so I was challenged to come up with something for her.
I found the bag at Hobby Lobby in the clearance isle. It had a price tag of 89 cents on it, but when the girl rang me up, it rang up at 45 cents! Since their open stock Paper Studio designer paper was also on sale, I found paper to match the bag and made her card…
I used There She Goes’ Puppy Love set for this and paired it again with the JustRite Happy Everything Mini tag kit.
We haven’t put anything in her bag yet, but I’ll leave that up to Josh!
~*~*~*~*~*~ Tink’s Valentine ~*~*~*~*~*~
My 2nd son’s girlfriend is the opposite of Amy. Her name is Carissa, but the first time my husband saw her he said she was so tiny like Tinkerbell, thus the nickname “Tink”.
Tink is bubbly and girly, so this is what I came up with for her:
I cannot take credit for the heart box idea. I saw this box made by Chris Olsen and knew it was the perfect idea for our Tink.
Here’s the box by itself:
Since our little Tink is a diabetic, I filled her heart with Russell Stover’s sugar free chocolates. Then I made a card to match:
I used the little girl from There She Goes’ Wrapped in Joy and replaced her balloons with hearts.

Alright, now I am officially done with valentines. On to Easter cards! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Hugs
