Hello Friends 🙂

Romance is in the air….. can you feel it?   Well, it’s awful cold here right now, but still…. there’s romance!!   My youngest son has a new girlfriend.   We get to meet her on Wednesday.   The boys have all put in their Valentine orders and making their plans.   I’m so proud of them.

Today, Joan is hosting the Technique Lover’s Challenge on SCS.   The technique is wet embossing on dry embossing.   Now I have tried to do this on previous occasions, but it never quite worked for me.   I would end up with embossing powder all over the place.   But Joan pointed us to a tutorial by Bev Gerard (TexasGrammy) where she uses a brayer to apply the versamark.  Why didn’t I ever think of that before?!  It works like a charm!!

You know those expensive flocked and embossed designer papers you see around?  Well now you can make them quite simply on your own!

Here is a close up view that better shows the result I achieved:

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers You’re So Sweet (flourish circle) and JustRite Stampers Happy Everything Tag Kit (both from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store)

Colors: Riding Hood Red, GP White, Kaisercraft English Rose designer papers

Ink: Versamark, Riding Hood Red

Accessories: 7/8″ Ivory crochet lace, 1/2″ wrinkled ribbon (olive) ~ Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, Nesties, 1/2 pearls (ivory), Prima fairytale rose, Making Memories finding brad, dimensionals, sticky tape, white embossing powder, polysparkle embossing powder

Thanks so much for stopping by!   Have a little romance today! 😉

Hugs!

Fun technique and a lovely effect. Great Victorian type card – I’m sure she’ll love it. Well done for the boys getting their orders in early too 🙂
