Hello, friends!

Welcome to the October ~ It’s A Wonderful Time of the Year ~ Stamp Simply Ribbon Store blog hop!   If you’ve arrived here from Sharon’s blog, then you are on your way!   Back on Sharon’s blog, you should have read the instructions on how you can win a fabulous prize during this hop.   In case you didn’t ~ Sharon is offering a $50 ribbon gift certificate to one lucky hopper.   The winner will be randomly chosen from on commenter on one of our blogs.   You’ll want to check them all!

I have fallen head over heels in love with the new Graphic 45 Christmas Past designer paper.   It just takes me back to my childhood and the old fashioned Christmas decor that I grew up with.   For my project today, I created an ornament that is presented inside an acetate box.   When you lift the lid off, the ornament comes with the lid and can be hung on the tree with or without the topper.

I took one of the ornament images from the JustRite Stampers Christmas Ornaments set and stamped it four times on Cherry Cobbler card stock (in black).   I cut those out and set them aside.   Then I stamped the same ornament four times on acetate in versamark and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.   I cut those out.   I score each piece down the center and adhered them together to create the 3D ornament.

The box is a simple design, following the acetate box tutorial on Splitcoaststampers in the resources section.   Before I formed the box top, I created a hole in the top to bring the gold cord from the ornament through.   Then I decorated the top of the box as well.  (note: instead of four sides of acetate on my box, I used two sides of acetate and two sides of card stock.

Of course, since I will gift this to someone, I had to make a card to go with it!   I found the three ornament image from JustRite Stampers Vintage Christmas set to be the perfect compliment.

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  JustRite Stampers Christmas Ornaments set and JustRite Stampers Vintage Christmas set and JustRite Stampers Christmas Nested Sentiments (on the ornament box)

Colors:  Handsome Hunter, Cherry Cobbler, GP White, Acetate, Graphic 45 Christmas Past dp

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, copics, Versamark, Tim Holtz distressing inks in tea bag and Antique Photo

Accessories: 1/4″ gold silk ribbon, 1 1/4″ gold silk ribbon, gold 1/2 pearls, red 1/2 pearls, gold embossing powder, eyelet border punch, branch punch, circle punches (various), circle nestabilites, lacey circle nestabilities, sponges, scor tape, scoring blade, gold cording, hole punches (various), red glitter glue, gold glitter glue, bow easy.

    Toy~

You have made a stunning ornament box and holder. I love how you worked the cardstock into the sides of the container.

This paper is so wonderful. It should smell like apple pie baking or something! It brings back so many wonderful memories.

I really love the card! Those ornaments and the circles around them are so pretty. It would come in handy for people that don’t have nestabilities and the such. (hint: like me!) lol
