~ I Love…. ~

Hello friends!

One of the best pieces of advice I have ever received was to make a mental list of things you love every day.   It’s especially helpful when I get to feeling down.   I must have slept well last night, because I woke up with a smile on my face and thinking of things I love.

First, I’m going to start with family.  I love them!  I have an extremely large family.   My mom was one of 10 kids.   I have 20 first cousins on that side of the family and a gob of 2nd cousins.  My grandmother is, at nearly 94, an amazing woman.   Here is a family picture taken in 1959 (my mom is the one on the right~ she’s pregnant with my oldest brother)

I also love things that grow.   I consider myself a brown thumb in the garden area, but my oldest son inherited his grandmother’s ability to nurture plants, so he keeps my fruits and veggies growing.

I love my friends.   Over the years, I’ve had many friends that I have cherished.   About 5 years ago, a group of us began gathering in the Splitcoaststampers forums and we called ourselves the “Challenge Chasers”.   The group has dwindled over the years, but right now we have an incredible group of supportive and encouraging ladies in our group.   My card today is made for one of them.

Kim P. (berlycece) is an amazing woman.   What God did not give her in stature, He made up for in heart.   My diminutive little friend works tirelessly supporting women’s issues.

A couple weeks back, I received a facebook group prize from Paper Pretties.   When I saw this image of the girl in the wheelchair, I thought of Kim.   I wouldn’t say Kim is disabled.   I would say she is “other”abled.   Yes, she does use a chair, but she’s a little spitfire!  She recently went parasailing!

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  Paper Pretties‘ Wheelchair Sophia

Colors: Brilliant Blue, Summer Sun, Always Artichoke, GP White, Piggytales dp (it’s raining, it’s pouring)

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, copics

Accessories: 1/2″ yellow grosgrain, buttons, embroidery floss, eyelet border punch, white brads, dimensionals, oval punch

Thanks much for stopping by today!   I hope you go make a mental list of the things YOU love!

Hugs,

Holly

Wow, 20 first cousins! No wonder your family gatherings are so much fun LOL! Great picture, thanks for sharing it 😀 Looks like your garden is going to give you some wonderful goodies too. Nothing beats home grown/farm fresh. We are lucky to live in an agricultural area that has some amazing farms with fresh produce and TONS of blueberry fields in the area. I have frozen 60 pounds so far and hope to get 10 more in if I can find the freezer room LOL!

What a fabulous card for your friend. Love the fact she went parasailing!! You go girl!!

Thanks for popping by my blog today. Was a wonderful surprise to see you there 😀 I still have a month of kids at home so stamping is still on the back burner. Helping hubby out at work too so it’s been a really busy past three weeks and will continue on until school starts I think! Not complaining because we had a reeeeeally rough road there for 6 months. Yup, God is good and very faithful. (((hugs)))
