………. What’s a girl to do?

Hi Friends!

From the time I first found the Splitcoaststampers website, I have been hooked on the daily challenges.   Anyone who has crafted for any length of time can attest to the fact that sometimes you are just lost for fresh ideas.   The challenges are a great way to keep the ideas flowing.

This week, the Dirty Dozen (and Alumni) are hosting a slew of challenges for Fan Club members of the Splitcoaststamper site.   Behind the scenes, we have been planning for weeks.   We have been stamping and embellishing our hearts out!   If you’re a Fan Club member, I challenge you *giggle* to join in the fun!  There are even prizes to be had!!   And if you’re NOT a Fan Club member, now is a good time to join!

So, for the past week, I have been doing a ton of creating.   Not only am I hosting a challenge for the DTGD challenges, but I have Monday’s Technique Challenge as well (that should be today!).    This week’s Technique Challenge is to make a Tilt card.   I found the tutorial in the resources section on Splitcoaststampers.   It’s a variation of the Spinner card.   With the Tilt card, your chosen image (or portion of an image) sways back and forth or tips in the case of my card.

My teapot is the working portion of the card.   I put a little piece of dimensional without the backing removed under the right corner of the teapot so that it only tips to the left like it’s pouring tea into the cup :).

I must admit that it’s a bit of a heavy card.   I’m going to make it worse, though :).   I have the idea to rig the back of the card to hold 2 tea bags.   I have these cool card sized acetate boxes that would hold it nicely.   I will then decorate the front of the acetate box and give it to a friend who loves tea!

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes’ Tea for Two

Colors: GP White, Sage Shadow, Apricot Appeal, Webster’s Pages Triple Pack

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx

Accessories: 1″ Satin Ribbon – white, 1/2 pearl flourish, oval nesties, swiss dots embossing folder, border punch, pennies, dimensionals

I have another share!   I did a sample for one of the other Dirty Girl’s challenges and wasn’t able to get it posted here, until now.   I am sworn to secrecy on what the challenge was, but here’s my creation :).

I went overboard on the designer paper on this little baby.   I just love the papers in the October Afternoon Ducks in a Row pack.   I turned the scalloped border upside down for the waves.

Here are the deets on this one:

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, copics, Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose

Ok, that is all~ for today :).   Thanks for stopping by!   I hope you’ll pop over to the challenges forums on Splitcoaststampers and join the fun!

Hugs,

Holly
