Good morning, friends!

I’ve been MIA for a few days.   It’s hard to explain why, but it’s all good.   Life goes on, right?   I am a bit worried that this current trend is a precursor to the way my summer is going to be.

I have been stamping.   I just haven’t had the opportunity to get things posted here on my blog.   This month’s Dirty Dozen/Alumni challenge was suppose to be posted on Thursday.   I didn’t get to that.   I have a slew of birthdays coming up and have been stamping away for those.   So, today, what I did was combine the Dirty Dozen/Alumni challenge with the Inspiration challenge on SCS and made it a birthday card.   There…killed three birds with one stone :).

Our mission for the DD/DDA challenge was to use buttons, but NO black of any kind.   No black ink, no black cardstock, no black anything.   I thought it would be hard, but it was actually pretty easy.    Then the Inspiration challenge came from the site called Amy Atlas Events.    I chose THIS item as my inspiration

So, here’s what I did.  First I punched out the scalloped oval.   Then I used a medium oval punch to take off the scallops on one side.   I created the cupcake bottom by just eyeballing a piece of cardstock for the shape.   On the oval (cupcake top), I stamped one of the smaller flourishes from There She Goes’ Flourish mini set (in Tim Holtz’ tea bag distressing ink).   I used the longest ‘shelf’ from the TSG HSH Halloween Additions set to make the lines on the cupcake bottom (also in Tim Holtz tea bag distressing ink.

Then I used the largest flourish from the Flourish mini set on the bashful blue frame.   I added some tiny white dots randomly around the flourishes.    The sentiment was stamped in Tim Holtz antique photo.   I finished it off with some pearls and a ribbon treatment.

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes’ Flourishes mini, TSG HSH Halloween Additions and TSG sweet pea (sentiment)

Colors: GP White, Bashful Blue, Barely Banana

Ink: Tim Holtz’ distressing inks (tea bag and antique photo)

Accessories: Baby blue grosgrain, 1/2 pearls, button, embroidery thread, gel pen, dimensionals, oval punch, scallop oval punch, nestie

Thanks for stopping by!   I hope you all have a sunny, warm, blessed weekend!

Hugs,

Holly

Fun ribbon treatment and a great card using so many challenges 😀 This time of year is crazy busy for me so my stamping time is at a minimum and then with summer coming, it will continue to be that way too as the kids are home 24/7. However, I wouldn’t trade my time with them for anything.
