~ Bird Nestie? ~

Hi Friends!
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. It was a gorgeous one here in Colorado, in spite of the fact that it’s still Winter! We spent a good deal of the weekend thinking about and praying for the people of Chile and the countries under Tsunami watches. The boys and I were jokingly saying that if these earthquakes and such don’t stop soon, the end of the world will come before we even get our copy of the 2012 movie from Netflix!
Today in the Technique Lover’s Challenge we’re going to do a little “faux” something something. Back before Nestabilities were invented, the image panels on our cards were generally of a square (or rectangle) nature. Then the Nesties were born. They really changed the ‘face’ of our projects. Still, to this day, they continue to come out with new shapes. I must admit, I want them all. Unfortunately, I’m not that well gifted in the bank account!
Today’s challenge is to use anything…. punches, scissors, etc… to create a shaped image panel. The only restriction is, you got it, no nesties!
For my card, I used the designer label punch, curvy label punch and corner rounder. To make sure they lined up correctly, I found the center point on all sides and centered the punch using that tick mark. For the mat, I just did the same on a slightly larger piece of designer paper.
Here are my deets:
Stamps: Artful Inkables‘ Any Birdy Home?
Colors: Bashful Blue, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, GP White, Old Olive, dp
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, copics, white gel pen
Accessories: Ribbon, 1/2 pearls, button, embroidery floss, swiss dots, button strip, designer label punch, curvy label punch, word window punch, corner rounder, dimenisonals

I hope you’ll pop over to the Challenge forums on Splitcoaststampers and play along! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a blessed day!
Hugs,
Holly
Wonderfully done, Holly! I have probably watched about 30+ hours of television in 3 days. Canada came a running home with some medals and it was beyond exciting. The gold medal win in hockey today was the icing on the cake. To say I’m proud to be Canadian is an understatement right now 😀
OH WOWWWWWWW, this is THE coolest layout! Love what you did. Great colors too!
Wow!! This is so wonderful, what a great idea with the punches. I just love it!
REALLY pretty color palette on this card Holly. I like the different shape you used for the center panel – it is so cool!
