~ Asian Tri-Shutter ~

Good morning, friend 🙂

I need a bigger blanket.   Yeah, I had one of those nights where I fought to keep warm.   Either my feet were freezing or my shoulders.   It’s October!   We’re not suppose to be this cold yet, but alas, we are.   They are calling for a dusting of snow today.   I have yet to turn on the heat as I am so not ready to pay those bills.   My kids are complaining, though, so I am sure it won’t be long.   Summer, please come back!

When I read Julia’s Way’s To Use It Challenge this morning, my eyes literally stopped at ‘asian’ and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.   I have a good friend back in New York who is completely enamored with all things asian.    I owe her a card, so here it is!

The first time I tried a tri-shutter card, I gave up after cutting the base.   It just overwhelmed me to have to cut pieces for each of those little areas.   I hooked into my ‘sticktoitism’ this time and managed to get it finished.   And you know, I love it!

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  Our Craft Lounge‘s Oriental Garden

Colors: Basic Black, Real Red, Paper Studio dps

Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, copics

Accessories: 1/2 pearls, ribbon, MS butterfly punches, eyelet border punch, oval nesties, dimensionals

Holly this card is FAB-ulous!! My daughter loves everything Asian too, and we are in NY (just thought I’d throw that in!) Your card is lovely and I’ve been holding off on creating a Tri-Shutter card myself for those very same reasons .. but, YOU have inspired me to give it another try so thank you! Ãœ
