Good day, ya’ll!

My thoughts are all over the place this morning, so bear with me as I try to put them down so that they make sense.   That’s what I get for staying up way too late!

I had stamp club last night.   That goofball, Cindy (Mothermark) was there..teehee… gotta love that girl.   She is such a rebel *wink*.   We made some really cute projects that I will share with you another time.    The good news is, I ordered all my new In Colors!   I will have them next week.   I can’t wait to see how they play out.

So first up is today’s Ways to Use it Challenge (Seeing Double).    I had this idea about stamping an image on one color then on acetate and mirroring it up, but for the life of me, I could not get that to come out as I had invisioned.   So, I went with double butterflies!  Two of them, in fact 🙂

For the main image, I first stamped the lighthouse on acetate and set it aside to dry.    I cut the designer paper with the largest oval nestie.  Then I cut the frame using the largest oval nestie and the next size down nestled inside.   I traced an oval around the lighthouse (on acetate) and cut that out by hand ~ I still can’t figure out how to use nesties with acetate!   I attached the acetate to the frame with sticky tape, then popped it on dimensionals and placed it on the designer paper background.

So, I don’t know if I have mentioned it yet, but my brother and my nephew are coming to visit next week!   Every few days he sends a text message with “14 more days” or “10 more days”… etc.   It is very exciting as my boys have never met their cousin, Gabe.

Then a couple of days ago, my brother sent me an e-mail with a picture attached.    A friend of his from school walked in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.    When I opened the picture, my eyes filled with tears.   There on her walk sign were the names of my Aunt Marci and at the bottom was “In Memory of Joyce Reinders”.    I am so amazed that after 17 yrs of being gone, my mom still touches lives.    She was an amazing woman.

I emailed my brother and asked if he thought Sandy would mind if I put this picture on my blog.   He shot that e-mail back to me with a cc: to Sandy saying that he didn’t think she would mind.    Within seconds, Sandy herself responded with an “Absolutely!”.   Well, a couple of e-mails back and forth and I found that Sandy is a scrapbooker/cardmaker, too!   How cool is that?!

It’s little things like this that restore my faith in people.   Thank you for your courage to do this walk, Sandy.    And thank you, for remembering my mom.
