~ June DD/DDA Challenge ~

Happy Saturday!
It’s time for another DD/DDA challenge! This month it’s all about summer. Jami threw down the challenge this month to come up with a card/project that screams summer. Our only requirement was to use mini brads and NO buttons. Well guess what I did. I put buttons on my first draft! I really suck at absorbing details when I read them. I always have to read things twice, but I guess I missed reading that twice. Anywho… back to the drawing board and the buttons came off 🙂
I had a tough time with the ‘screaming’ part, too..lol. Nothing about summer screams at me but the heat. I do relate summer to rest and relaxation though, so I thought I would make a relaxing card. Oh, and butterflies! I always think of butterflies when I think of summer.
I took off the buttons I had originally used and replaced them with candy dots. Dang, those buttons looked cute, too! 🙂 For the butterfly, I stamped with pencil erasers in the More Mustard, Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie, then die cut the shape.
Here are my deets:
Stamps: Our Craft Lounge‘s Coastal Wishes (sentiment)
Colors: Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, More Mustard, GP White, Washington Apple dp
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, More Mustard
Accessories: ribbon, candy dots, mini flower brad, primas, circle punches, curvy rectangle nesties, swiss dots ef, pencil erasers, Butterfly nesties die, dimensionals
