~ Ode To Vivaldi ~
June 11th, 2009 by Holly McMillen
Happy Thursday 🙂
I am going to let my inner geek out for a moment.  I love classical piano.  Mozart, Bach, Beethoven…especially Vivaldi.  I suppose it comes from days of my youth when my father would listen to the classics.  It could be worse, he use to listen to german polka, too! At least I didn’t get hooked on that! LOL
There is something so powerful in a classical piano piece. Â I like to listen to it loud, too. Â Don’t tell my kids, though, as I am always telling them to turn down their music :).
So today’s challenge was to use crinkled cardstock in our project. Â I started thinking about why someone would crinkle a piece of paper. Â A note not written as intended? Â Â The beginning of a novel? Â A composer trying to perfect his melody? YES!
I stamped the piano image on the Graphic 45 designer paper and colored it. I crinkled it up and sat it aside.   I slightly distressed a piece of close to cocoa by stippling it with Chocolate Chip.   I added some french script to the more mustard layer and stippled that with Chocolate Chip, too.  I layered it all together, used some sheer gold ribbon and added the silver accents. Voila!
Here are my deets:
Stamps:Â Artful Inkables‘ Music a la Carte
Colors: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard, Graphic 45 dp
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Chocolate Chip, copics, white watercolor pencil
Accessories: silver 1/2 pearls, SU eyelet border punch, ribbon, charm, stipple brush, dimensionals

Love what you’ve done here, Holly. Great card adn the treble cleff charm is perfect!
As for the classical music, it’s wonderful!!! So much passion about life and life stories in the music. My DD is playing Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata at her piano recital this weekend and we recently found out the story behind this piece! He was totally depressed about loosing his hearing and suicidal while living in a bording house when a blind girl who lived there shouted in his ear that she would give anything to be able to see moonlight streaming across water. It snapped him out of his depression and he wrote the song for her. So, CRANK that classical and enjoy LOL!!!
By the way, how is Marci doing these days. Haven’t had any updates for some time.
Terrific card!! Love the music theme and the charm is perfect.
This is so very pretty, Holly! Love the distressed look to this card!
