~ Our Daily Bread ~ Dare ~

Good Saturday, to ya!

I have exciting news to share!    A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Our Daily Bread Designs and asked if I would like a Guest Designer spot for the months of February and March, 2009.    I squealed in delight.   I {heart} ODB stamps and what they represent!

So, over the next couple months, I will be featuring some awesome new Our Daily Bread designs.    Today I bring you a double whammy…. not only is it a Sneak Peek of an upcoming ODB set, it is my inspiration card as well!

When I first saw this lighthouse image, I was a little intimidated by it’s size and detail.   I LOVE to color, so I thought it might be  quite a challenge and it was!   I stamped the image on Creamy Caramel cardstock and went to work ‘aging’ the image.   I colored it with muted browns and blues and greens… adding some yellow and even  pink to the sky.   Then I went over the whole thing with close o cocoa and a stipple brush.

I had picked up these Amazing Grace by Flair designer papers a couple weeks ago just for this occasion.  I chose a piece with some blues in it (to bring out the water in the image) and distressed that piece, too.   The sentiment, highlighted words and compass are all on dimensionals.

OH!  Least I forget…….. this is is the photo that I chose for inspiration.

Colors: Creamy Caramel, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Amazing Grace with Flair dps

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics, white gel pen (for accent), Close to Cocoa

Accessories: brown brads, wide chocolate grosgrain, medium blue grosgrain, circle punch, scissors, gold cord, cross charm, dimensionals, stipple brush
