~ In Stitches ~

Good morning!

Some of you are back for the tute and I have to apologize profusely for not getting it posted yet.   I stress the YET.   We are having some technically difficulties with the tute, but are working it out and it will be posted asap.   If anyone knows anything about OLD cameras and how to fix them, please  come help! LOL

In the meantime, I have been in stitches…. cross stitches, that is.    For today’s Limited Supply Challenge, the only requirement was to use a black base on our card.   Being a former cross stitcher, I wanted to do some stitching on the corners of my layout.   It was rather easy to set up… just used my mat pack and piercing template to get the holes in the right place, then get to stitching.   The problem is, I haven’t cross stitched in years and I was getting a bit frustrated…. next time I will make them holes bigger! 🙂

I used my There She Goes’ Welcome Home set for my focal image.   I love red doors, so I made my door red and tried to give it an antique look.   I’m a wee frustrated that you can see the dimensionals under the wreath in my pic, but you can’t see them irl…. must be that angle, but with the camera I am using this was the least blurry picture, so I guess I live with it 🙂

Here are my deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes’ Welcome Home

Colors:  Basic Black, GP White, Riding Hood Red

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, black sharpie (to create the bricks on the RHR piece)

Accessories: mini brads, kiwi ribbon, needle, mat pack (piercing tools), embroidery floss (light green), dimensionals

An update on Marci:

Well, Aunt Marci is awaiting the news that she has taken her last chemo treatment.   Her white cell count is so low that they have been skipping her treatments and giving her blood instead.    She has dropped 20lbs. in the last month!   We pray every day that she gets up feeling good, but every day she is feeling sicker and sicker.

Today (1/23) is her birthday.    We are going to spend the day spoiling her and maybe take her out to lunch.     She IS excited that today she can get a discount pass to all the state parks around the country (she is turning 62).

Please continue to pray.   We won’t give up.. we still need our family and friends to lift her up!

Thank you!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love the stitching in the corners! What a great idea. Very warm and inviting door too 🙂

Thanks for the update on Marci. My heart aches for her and all of you who have to see her going through this! Have you tried a natropath? I know many are iffy about them, but I swear by them – just have to make sure you get a good one. They may be able to boost her immune system.

Please wish her a happy birthday for me from one January baby to another (mine was on the 21st) and give her a big hug. My prayers will be with her.
