~Resolutions~

Happy Tuesday, Ya’ll!

I want to talk about resolutions.   The New Year kind and otherwise.   My mother use to tell me that the only way to get anywhere in this world was to have resolve.    What does it mean to ‘have resolve’.   Well, according to her, you needed to have the backbone to go for whatever you want, no matter the stumbling blocks put before you.   So, with that said, I resolve to…….

A) Lose weight…. going to start by joining weight watchers, today.

B) Become more organized…… starting with my desk!

C) Post my sketch challenges again…….. beginning February 1st,  there will be a weekly sketch challenge on this blog.

D) Tell people I love them……. by sending more cards!

There…  I think that is a good start.   And, it is written on this blog, so it will be staring me in the face :).

This morning’s color challenge colors (Not Quite Navy, Bali Breeze and Kraft) were a little tricky.   While they are great ‘guy’ colors, I really needed a sample with this new There She Goes set  (LOL Taglines).    I messed around with the colors a bit and had a tough time determining which way I wanted the colors….. I do that alot.   Then I settled on this layout.   The Kraft layer that would be layer #2 seemed a bit plain, so I whipped out my trusty ruler and black sharpie and gave it a  ‘cedar siding’ look.   My hubby would be proud. LOL.

Here’s the deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes’ LOL Taglines

Colors: Basic Black, Not Quite Navy, Bali Breeze, kraft, GP white

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics, black sharpie, white gel pen

Accessories:  black brads, black velvet ribbon, curved rectangle nesties, circle punch, MS embossing border punch, ruler, dimensionals

3D  Project of the day

~  Mini desk box~

Ok so maybe I am going to start my own line of desk accessories.    This little mini desk box measures 6 1/2 ” square and 1 1/2″ high.   They can be stacked to hold just about anything you can think of.   This particular one is holding all my nesties.    I am going to make several more to hold my acrylic stamps!   I figure you can stack them about 4 high and not have a problem with sagging.

Now, before anyone goes and requests a tutorial…… 🙂 ………… I will start posting tutorials on my desk accessories every thursday morning.   I have several tutorials to write at the moment and it is going to take me a little time (which I have!), so please be patient.   Check back frequently, if you can.    You are always welcome to e-mail me at [email protected] and I will put you on a list of those to be notified when a tute is posted.

Enjoy!

    Love your goals, Holly.

Think I need, actually I WILL join you in the organizational one. It was amazing how organized my desk was at work when I worked, but it just partially followed through at home. So feel free to ask me any time how I’m doing – accountability is good!!

YEAH, sketch challenges again — see me jumping up and down. I so depend on these as my poor little creative gene just doesn’t work too well when I have
to start with a blank canvas. Can’t wait!!

Good for you on the last one too. Your cards are amazing and I’m sure many will be touched to receive one from you.

Love the little desk drawer. You have an amazing spacial mind – heck you could have been an architect with that mind and worked on autocad and created amazing things. Keep them coming – they are so fun.

Great little card too! Got a good laugh from the sentiment – I have 6 – 9 after school every day and still can’t figure out how they got in LOL 🙂

    Have a great day!

Great resolutions Holly! We are trying to eat better in our house as my husband has had some major health issues and needs to lose about 100 pounds. We figure it’s better to do it as a family and be as supportive as we can!

Love the background you created…the wood look is fabulous!!

Your little boxes for your desk are super cool too!! What a nice way to dress it up at the same time!
