~ What’s New?~
January 10th, 2009 by Holly McMillen
Happy Saturday, Ya’ll!
Well, the mania has set in again… I am a crafting fool. I love when I feel this way, but am always leary of the “crash”.. if you know what I mean!
First off, I want to share with you a *new* product (to me anyway!). It is called In Stitch’z by Bazzill. Like many papercrafters, my first love was cross stitch / embroidery. I still own every DMC floss color known to mankind. When I saw this product, I really flipped… so cool! I can stitch on my cards without whipping out the clunky sewing machine that I have no idea how to use!
The concept of the project is just like embroidery. You lay the pattern on your card and “punch” it with a needle (like paper piercing), then you stitch it with embroidery floss. They (my LSS) had several different pattern packs and different color families of floss, but like I said, if you own any floss, you’re golden!
Here is my sample using this product:
The deets:
Stamps: There She Goes’ Welcome Home (if you haven’t seen this set, check it out.. it is to die for!)
Colors: Basic Black, GP White, Certainly Celery, Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics
Accessories: candy dots, In Stitch’z, ticket corner punch, designer label punch, circle punch, dimensionals, ribbon

~ IC162~ Friendship Blooms
Today’s IC was an interesting one. First, I had a tough time getting inspired, initially. I was scared. The nature of the art we were given as inspiration is asian and I knew I needed to channel my inner minimalist. Not so easy!
I chose my inspiration by color today. Color inspires me alot. I am always looking at nature, advertising, etc for great color combos. I did my first piece last night and I was tired, so I think it shows a little. I do love it, though!
Here is my first inspiration card:
Deets:
Stamps: Friendship Blooms by SU!
Colors: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, GP White (don’t you love this combo?!)
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics
Accessories: ribbon, candy dots, dimensionals, scissorrs, small scalloped circle

~IC~ Greetings Under Glass
Ok, now this one was FUN! Last night I got a call from my aunt who works in the photo department at Wal*Mart. They had these photo snowglobes on clearance for ……….. 80 cents! She asked if there was anything I could do with them, and I said to bring them home and let me look at them…heck for 80 cents, it was worth a look!
I nearly peed myself when I saw them. What a great idea! You can change out the inside for whatever season we are in and have a constant decoration! They are sooooooooo cute!!!
Here is my project:
Deets:
Stamps: Embrace Life (flower) by SU! and MFT sentiment
Colors: Kiwi Kiss, GP white
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics, white gel pen
Accessories: black brads, ribbon, dimensionals, word window punch, circle punch
Ok, that is all for me for now.. but with this mania going on, I will likely be back! 🙂
TFL and have a blessed day!
Well, a-bless a-mah soul! I’m all shook up!!
Wow!! Look at that little snowglobe!! Cute as can be!
LOVE the colors on the stitched card – and seriously that looks so cool with the stitching. Never seen what you are talking about! My LSS doesn’t exist…..hahahaha! Only Hobby Lobby here — maybe they would have them!
Love your IC card too! I had to look and look until I found one I could do — yours is awesome!
Oh yeah — sorry about the song. DH has been singing it all week for a thing he is doing at the theater — and it fit with the snowglobe!! LOL
Cute idea with the snow globe! Your creativity never ceases to amaze me. Great job!

Love your creations! I bought the Bazzill stitching templates, but haven’t gotten to them yet. Beautiful results!
just came across you on SCS and you said Loveland…I live here too so thought I’d say, “small world.” 🙂 You do nice work. I’ll be back!
Such fun projects. I recently found the Bazzill Stitches too and you can put beads on them. Use a smaller needle and seed beads look great! 🙂 I love your snow globe too. Great work!!!
