LSC199 ~ I’ve Got The Blues ~
December 19th, 2008 by Holly McMillen
Good morning, my friends!
Don’t let my title fool ya! I am in a great mood and not blue at all, except my projects are blue!
First off, I needed a box to put hubby’s birthday present in, so when I saw Jeanne’s LSC challenge (Holiday Blues) this morning, I thought, HOW PERFECT! It could not have worked better for me, unless it had something to do with camo… as camo is my dh’s favorite color! 🙂
The tutorial for this box (explosion box) can be found here on SCS:
Explosion Box on Tutorial at Splitcoaststampers
I used my Friendship Flowers set from There She Goes to create this little box (measures 2 1/2 inches square. I can’t tell you yet what I am putting in it, as it is a suprise for hubby!
Here are my deets on this box:
Stamps: Friendship Flowers by There She Goes
Colors: Bashful Blue and Night of Navy
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: ribbon, dimensionals, scalloped circle punches, scoring blade, scissors, sticky tape

This is his birthday card. I purchased this Nature Silhouettes set solely for doing his birthday card as he is an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
I tried my best to channel some of Michelle Zindorf’s brayering talent, but I am no Zindorf. I do think it came out pretty nice, though. DH will be happy with it as there is a deer on it! He is a simple man….lol.
So, do you see all the BLUE I have going on in these two projects!? I am not one to use many blues, unless it is cool caribbean….. which I am nearly out of *sigh*!
Here are the deets on this one:
Stamps: Nature Silhouettes by SU!
Colors: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Ballet Blue, Glossy White
ink: Ballet Blue, Graphite Black
Accessories: brads, velvet ribbon, ribbon slider border punch, dimensionals, brayer, circle punch
TFL and have a blessed day!
Set looks great, but the pics don’t enlarge when you click on them so hopefully you’ve posted on SCS so I can get a better look at your creations. The deer card looks fabulous from what I can see and I’m sure he will be thrilled to receive it!!! Have a great day.
