~Year Round Simplicity~

holiday-taglines.jpg   Happy Black Friday!

I’m a good mom.   I have to keep repeating that to myself this morning.  I AM a good mom.   At 3:30am this morning, I woke my son, Joshua, to send him shopping at Wal*Mart.   His list was long, his pockets full of cash and his eyes drooping from the 4 hours of sleep he had.   I am a good mom. LOL    I would have went myself, but I don’t do crowds.    His brother, Zeke, woke to go with him, but as soon as we saw his droopy eyes, we sent him back to bed.   Afterall, that poor kid has to work from 4pm – midnight!

So, after I sent Josh off to bargain hunt with a zillion other people, I went to work making a card.   I was on SCS the other day and I saw the snowflake dots embossing folder on a card.   I thought to myself, “Why don’t I have that embossing folder?!”   Well, as I cleaned my desk thoroughly in anticipation of company, I found an envelope from Oh My Crafts and sure enough, there was the snowflake dots folder!   I had it all along!   I need a 12 step program.   I am a good mom.

I found this beautiful piece of designer paper by Reminisce at the LSS the other day and I adore the colors, so I thought I would make a Christmas card with my new paper and the new upcoming release from There She Goes,  Year Round Sentiments.   I had a cup of coffee and bad lighting, but I think it came out pretty cute!

Here are the deets on my early morning card:

Stamps:   There She Goes – Year Round Sentiments

Colors: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Reminisce DP

Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black

Accessories: brads, snowflake brad, ribbon, swiss dots, snowflake dots ef, ms branch punch, circle punch, silver cord.

TFL….. I’ll be back with more after the challenge is posted!

hog-heaven.jpg   I’m baaaaaaack 🙂

Today’s LSC was a toughie!  Called Pinky Animal 3, we were to make a card using pink, only 3 layers and 3 embellies… with an animal!   Well, I just got new Hambos, so the pink animal was not big deal, but 3 layers???   You know that was tough for me!   I think it came out pretty good, though!

I used my new Papercrafts punch that my Zeke bought me for my birthday…. isn’t is cuute!!?   I did a little ‘out of the box’ deal with the image, but in retrospect, I should have just cut the piggie out.   No worries though!   Her wings and halo are covered in stickles.

Here are my deets on this one:

Stamps:  Hambo Stamps  Angel Pig and sentiment

Colors:  Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, GP White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: heart brads, ribbon, papercrafts heart punch, ribbon punch, swiss dots ef, dimensionals

be-merry.jpg   Ok, so I’m back with a couple more cards 🙂

It has been such a quiet afternoon, with the kids off to Estes Park with my Uncle Ben.   My Dh is napping and the aunts are over at another aunt’s house.    That has left me with lots of time to myself!   I would clean, but why waste a good afternoon, right? 🙂

I got this little Hero Arts Christmas set for my birthday and couldn’t wait to ink it up.   I am all about the Kiwi Kiss lately, so I picked up some cute ribbon to match it the other day, too.    Isn’t this little penguin adorable?!   This little set has cute word bubbles, too.  So fun.

Here are the deets on this one:

Stamps:  Hero Arts Christmas set

Colors:  GP White, Kiwi Kiss

Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Kiwi Kiss, copics

Accessories: ribbon, ribbon slide punch, snowflake dots ef, photo corner punch, scalloped oval punches, oval punch, white gel pen

breakthroughs.jpg   I was on a mission this afternoon to create a clean and simple card.   I used this same layout recently on another card, with different deets, but I wanted to use it again, as it lends itself well to a large sentiment.    I love this sentiment by There She Goes (Thinking of You set).  It is so uplifting!    This adorable little set, available December 1st, is packed with good thoughts.

I pulled out a really old fiskars border punch for this one.   The DP is by October Afternoon and the butterfly is the Martha punch that I just *HAD* to have, and I rarely do butterflies!

Here are the deets:

Stamps:  There She Goes’ Thinking of You

Colors: Very Vanilla, Regal Rose, DP by October Afternoon

ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, copics

Accessories: ribbon, dimensionals, fiskars border punch, small circle punch, small scallop punch, MS butterfly punch

TFL!~ and have a peaceful day!

I really like this card! Those punches add such a festive touch – great DP too! You ARE a good Mom – otherwise Josh would have said no. hahaha!!

Hope he finds what he is looking for. I am waiting until 10 to go. It’s dark and cold and I am a baby.

Cute card. Just love that leaf/branch punch. Actually I NEED that punch LOL!

Hope poor Josh can battle his way through the crowds today and come home with lots of goodies!! Believe it or not, quite a few moms from the school are heading over the line today to do some shopping (we are only about 15 minutes from WA state) and will not only face the crowds but no doubt some long border line ups too! Oh well, all in the name of shopping and getting a good deal, right?! 🙂

    Have a great day.

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Holly, these cards are beautiful! I love the way you threaded the ribbons and the punches, as well as the embossing, add so much. Beautiful designs, beautiful papers, beautiful cards.

These are all wonderful, Holly! I love the punched frame for the pig and the ribbon treatment on the penguin card! What a great sentiment and pretty punch beneath it for the last card! The DP and embossed piece for the first card are great! I love how you dressed up the sentiment with the cord and punched branches!
